Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to fix them.
Most problems fall into a few categories. Here is how to resolve them.
Photos are resized and compressed in your browser before upload, so normal phone photos work. If a very large image still fails:
- Retake the photo, or once it is uploaded use the built-in crop tool to trim it down.
- Make sure you are within the 12 photo limit per listing.
- Try again; brief network errors are retried automatically.
This appears when auto-publish held a listing back because it could not publish cleanly. Open the listing, fix what is flagged, and publish manually. Common causes:
- A required identifier is missing or could not be verified.
- The condition or category needs a choice only you should make.
- A policy, location, or price is missing or out of range.
See Auto-publish and Review and edit.
ListSnap AI checks requirements before publishing, so most failures point to a fixable setup or field issue:
- eBay not fully set up. Confirm your account is connected and that your marketplace, policies, and inventory location are set. See Marketplace and policies and Inventory location.
- An identifier was rejected. If a UPC, EAN, or MPN looks misread, ListSnap AI drops the questionable value rather than risk a rejection. The item can still publish using its brand and other details.
- Brand and part number need to match. When eBay expects both a brand and a part number, make sure both are filled and consistent on the review page.
- Condition not allowed. Pick a condition eBay supports for the category. Refurbished is only available if your account is approved and the option is enabled in Listing defaults.
- Price out of range. Make sure the price is within eBay's allowed range for the marketplace.
- You see an upgrade prompt. Background removal is available on the Growth plan and above. On the Free or Starter plan, choosing it opens an upgrade prompt instead of running. It is free of credits on eligible plans. See Plans and billing.
- You are asked to try again later. There is a fair-use limit on background removal per workspace. If you hit it, wait a bit and try again.
- The result is not perfect. Background removal masks the background only, it never repaints the item. For tricky shots, a plain, evenly lit backdrop when you take the photo gives the cleanest cut. See Edit photos.
- Add a hint with the model number or exact variant when you upload. See Upload photos.
- Include clearer photos of labels and barcodes.
- Add more angles so the AI has more to work with.
That is expected. Listings, credits, and the connected eBay account all belong to the active workspace. Switch back to the right workspace from the workspace switcher. See Organizations.
